district court of Atchison County, denying his motion made
pursuant to K.S.A. 60-1507, to set aside his plea of guilty to
murder in the second degree and the sentence imposed thereunder
of confinement at hard labor in the Kansas State Penitentiary for
the term of his natural life. The petitioner is hereafter referred to as the defendant.
